I’ve been making more long-form video lately. Holding edits longer than usual and letting fuller moments play out even though it feels awkward. I got inspired watching emma chamberlin’s youtube channel after reading about her in Architectural Digest. She vlogged into a massive business and multi-million following. Long-form is strangely entertaining to watch: the camera rolls and you’re waiting for something to happen but nothing happens. And that goes on for minutes until the video ends. Yet it’s captivating. There’s definitely an archival benefit to longform: we watched last year’s Christmas edit and saw that Ty and Ash were wearing the exact same outfits as last year.
